Universities' Crucial Role in Our Spacefaring Future By Tuija Pulkkinen and Anthony Waas

I like how this article pointed out that there are several different fields that can play a part in the space race. Most people think of astrophysics and engineering, but there is also a lot in the health field. Even though this push for space is happening at the university level it seems to be lacking in Colorado at the community college level. I recently got to visit a friend of mine who works at a community college in Texas, and everything really is bigger in Texas. The school not only had all the normal buildings on campus but also had an equestrian center and a planetarium. Yes, you heard that right, a planetarium. Texas is a big state for space, but so is Colorado. We have major space related companies here and we now have the Space Command here. This is major and the schools in Colorado should start creating programs and resources to help students into these fields.
