9/29/23: "13 Colorado colleges, universities considered Hispanic-Serving Institutions"- A school having the HSI designation should really mean something, but I have personally worked at a school that had the designation and the only real reason why they had it was due to the number of Hispanic students they had in their population and not on what they actually did to serve those students, which was basically nothing. One employee at an open meeting even asked the leadership what HSI meant because of what little the school did in relation to the population and how little it was talked about. I think that there should be stricter requirements to get this designation and with how it current stands this designation is meaningless. https://www.denver7.com/lifestyle/education/13-colorado-colleges-and-universities-considered-hispanic-serving-institutions
